MISSION

To manage effectively and efficiently the environment and natural resources of the provinces enhancing the capability of and building partnership with municipal and barangay LGUs to empower forest-based communities and non-forest resource users.

FUNCTIONS/GOALS

	Transformation of forest-based communities to become self-reliant through a sustainable system of production geared towards ecological stability
	Conservation, utilization and development of natural resources and the restoration/rehabilitation of denuded watershed and forest areas.
	Development and enforcement of environmental laws, rules and regulations devolved to the province

OBJECTIVES

	To support the restoration and rehabilitation of small watershed and denuded/open areas with the participation of hte communities;
	To implement development enforcement measures of environmental laws within the devolved functional areas of Nueva Vizcaya;
	To establish, develop and manage provincial forest and assist municipal and barangay LGUs in developing nature-based tourism;
	To initiate and organize CBFM in collaboration with municipal and barangay LGUs and communities;
	To enhance the capability of municipal and barangay LGUs and communities in managing community-based forest resources;
	To facilitate the provision of tenurial instrument to forest-based communities and/or occupants;
	To promote appropriate agro-forestry technologies for sustainable productivity; and
	To assist ISF-CBFM Communities engage in other livelihood project to lessen pressure on the watershed resources
