The SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN is the local legislative body of the Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya composed of two districts with 5 Board Members each and 3 ex-officio members representing the Sangguniang Kabataan, Liga ng mga Barangay and Councilor’s League.

MISSION

To develop conducive climate for peace and prosperity in the province through enactment of responsive, proactive and quality legislation cognizant of the thrust of the provincial leadership and the national government, forging partnership with local and foreign investors, creating sources of revenue and ensuring effective fiscal management and accountability.

FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT

	To facilitate the provision of funds for:
		Construction of infrastructure farm to market roads, solar driers, irrigation and other related projects
		Training and research development for the enhancement of the agricultural production and marketing strategies
		Construction and/or rehabilitation of provincial roads to enhance economic development in the province
	To be supportive of the development directions identified by the LGU in support of the vision
	To pass regulatory measures for the protection and conservation of our natural resources
	To upgrade the research arm of the legislative body to be able to come up with quality legislation responsive to the LGU vision
